I've always found it fascinating how many different people we are in a lifetime and that thought inspired this artwork of a lion from birth to old age. And the artwork inspired the prose.

I am old now
Tired and scarred
From many battles
Lost and won
I am wise now
As I gaze upon
The tiny cub so curious in Spring
The young lion so proud in Summer
The mighty king so strong in Autumn
The old one so weary in Winter
And I sigh in wonder
As I reflect upon
The seasons of my life
And I smile
At all that I have been.
