Gallery Beguiled said it best, Carol. I can only add that Lilacs are my all time favorite natural fragrance. It takes me back to my earliest memories as a little boy in Omaha, Nebraska. We had two huge bushes of them in our back yard and I was always mesmerized by their olfactory essence. The small, delicate blooms and lavender hues were also attractive, Your work here is stunning, extraordinary, outstanding. My guess is that you can discern that I love this image, Carol! FAV / LOVE

Gallery Beguiled
Lilacs are one of my all time favorite flowers. I grew up with lilacs. At the edge of our huge vegetable garden was a large lilac bush and a small plum tree that made this little hide out, where I could crawl in between them, much like a verdant, fragrant cave. And that's where I would go to watch my mother garden between the leaves, or read a book or just day dream. The scent would always soothe my troubled spirit. Your gorgeous painting just blows me away.. the realism borders on the edge of mystery giving this scene a fantasy feel. Just love the way these smell.

The scent of the lilacs and the magnificent colors of hydrangeas always fascinated me and sent me into a fantasy world.
