Description
I am old now
Tired and scarred
From many battles
Lost and won
I am wise now
As I gaze upon
The tiny cub so curious in Spring
The young lion so proud in Summer
The mighty king so strong in Autumn
The old one so weary in Winter
And I sigh in wonder
As I reflect upon
The seasons of my life
And I smile
At all that I have been.
Seasons Of The Lion prose by Carol Cavalaris
I've always found it fascinating how many different people we are in a lifetime and that inspired this artwork of a lion from birth to old age. An old lion, full of scars, looks down at a cub, young lion, and mighty king, remembering his life, is from the Africa Collection of art by Carol Cavalaris.

I love your Lion Prose Carol, and of course the story you weave of this handsome creature with the wave of your talented hand.

Carol, I love the thought behind this image and your description...I am looking at it as I sit beside my 90 year old mother's rehab bed after a fall she took, I am acutely aware of the seasons of life! There are four children of varied ages in our family...and I am comparing us to your lions. What a beautiful contrast to the Circle of Life. Adore this! Vote fave
Carol Cavalaris replied:
Thanks for your very lovely comment, Kathy. The circle of life, if we are lucky, can be a fascinating experience. I, too, have been with my father shortly before his passing, with 4 generations.
