This painting is about grieving the loss of a loved one and is dedicated to my beloved soul mate, LJ, gone now for 6 years, forever in my heart.
I live in the middle of a forest in the high country of Colorado. It is the wild beauty of my surroundings that inspires my mixed medium paintings of wildlife and nature. I grew up in Southern California and have been creating since childhood, always drawing, painting or making something. I have enjoyed many creative adventures, including sculpting, stained glass art, being a display artist, an interior designer, a graphic artist, a copywriter, a songwriter, a novelist, and a creative director. Thank you, Dee. Yes, her eyes have a red tinge.There is a lot of detail that really doesn't show very well in this small size. There are several hearts within the image, including some in her eyes.
