I live in the middle of a forest in the high country of Colorado. It is the wild beauty of my surroundings that inspires my mixed medium paintings of wildlife and nature. I grew up in Southern California and have been creating since childhood, always drawing, painting or making something. I have enjoyed many creative adventures, including sculpting, stained glass art, being a display artist, an interior designer, a graphic artist, a copywriter, a songwriter, a novelist, and a creative director. Thanks for your lovely comment, Carl. This was painted in Photoshop. The concept came from being an artist and how everything I create is a part of who I am. I love expressing my feelings and passion through my work, and find it a great release, as I'm sure many artists do.

I can't imagine you hiding your art away, from yourself or the world, as it is so amazing and so much a part of who you are. The years you've been away from your art have not been wasted, for you are now bringing all that you experienced, all that you felt and learned, to your work. I feel the same about your work. This one says so much to me personally. I could use this as a self portrait! Its as if the person/artist has come to life. Breaking free. And her being nude meaning she is not holding back & is not afraid to "expose" her true self. Im actually crying as I write this as this is whats dying & locked inside of me. I need to be set free. Your work & this piece especially speaks volumes to me. This painting alone has moved me & helped to open me up just a little more. Thank you thank you thank you. Im now working on another self portrait right now. It is full of symbolism & quite different from all my other work. Im just always trying to switch up & try my hand at different things. I only just started back with my drawing back in June of last year. This was after 20 long years of hiding it away. Now I feel time is slipping away so fast & Im struggling to catch up on many wasted years. I wish I never had to sleep........
