Description
Memories remain
Of a bygone day
When a beautiful ballerina
Loved two things in this world
More than life some say
Roses and ballet.
As a child she would
Dance in her garden
And sing and play
With her precious roses
In the most loving way
Her secret wish was
To dance at the Paris Ballet
And so she practiced every day.
And the fairies and roses were listening
And they made her wish come true
As only fairies and roses can do
For in a bed of roses
She found a pair of pink satin ballet shoes
And when she put them on
She danced all the way to the Paris stage.
Her movements made roses bloom
On those magical rose ballet shoes
As she twirled like swirling petals
Every step filled with pure light, joy, and love
And every year she danced
The beauty within her
Grew and grew.
Then one day
So very long ago
The beautiful ballerina went away
Of course the memory of her stayed
Where she went no one knew
And her shoes disappeared, too.
Perhaps those rose ballet shoes
Found their way into another little girl’s heart
And will one day make all her dreams come true.

Carol, this inspired piece not only moved your brush but your pen to poetry! Such a rich complement of textures...realistic feel to the silk, brocade, sarin....MASTERFUL! Voted. Good luck! L/F

Carol, EXQUISITE comes to mind with this painting and poem...both Classic pieces of Elegance, Sensitivity and Grace! The satin detailing and lacework...it’s as though you wove the cloth, tatted the lace and and arranged the composition of stilled movement in Its Best LIGHT! A breathtaking painting! BRAVA! To be sure, a vote! L/F
