I live in the middle of a forest in the high country of Colorado. It is the wild beauty of my surroundings that inspires my mixed medium paintings of wildlife and nature. I grew up in Southern California and have been creating since childhood, always drawing, painting or making something. I have enjoyed many creative adventures, including sculpting, stained glass art, being a display artist, an interior designer, a graphic artist, a copywriter, a songwriter, a novelist, and a creative director. When I was very small, maybe five years old... I woke up frightened in the middle of the night and to my surprise there was a white, wolf-like dog sitting placidly beside my bed gazing at me with loving eyes. Strange, my fear dissipated and I fell gently back to sleep. I woke the next morning, very excited about this special visitor I had the night before and told my mother what had happened. Needless to say, she didn't believe it was real, but I did and to this day, I still do. This beautiful image of yours reminded me immediately of my mysterious visitor. Absolutely love the myriad colors reflecting in his fur. Gorgeous work, Carol. I'm a fan! Faved! o/ o/
